Ruth Ogden

Associate

Ruth Ogden is an associate attorney at Woodhouse Roden Ames & Brennan, LLC. She received her Juris Doctorate from University of Wyoming College of Law in 2022. During law school, she served as the Student Clinic Director of the UW Family and Child Legal Advocacy Center. As Student Director, Ruth represented clients as a student attorney, working cases from intake to close and supervising her student peers in legal proceedings such as negotiations, hearings, and trial preparation. Ruth also participated in school competitions such as the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, where she assisted in drafting briefs and delivering oral arguments before a mock court modeled after the International Court of Justice, the most formal court in the world.

To begin her post-graduate legal career, Ruth worked multiple state contracts and as a guardian ad litem as a solo practitioner under the guidance of distinguished mentors. She is aptly experienced in family law, domestic violence, child welfare, juvenile justice, health care law, contracts, and other areas of civil law. Ruth has been appointed by the governor to serve on the State Advisory Council for Juvenile Justice and is currently serving on the executive committee.

Before pursuing law, Ruth worked with at-risk youth and families for six years in multiple professional capacities as a child protection services caseworker, an inpatient mental health counselor, and a juvenile services professional in Colorado. It is not only Ruth’s professional training that allows her to impact people’s lives in a significant and real way; her passion for children and families drives Ruth to advocate for every client with the representation they deserve. Ruth considers it an honor to represent each individual in the office and in court with compassion and integrity.

If she is not working, Ruth may be reminiscing about her days summiting the Grand Teton while she turns her two little ornery boys into tea drinkers and adventurers. She’s probably working, though.
